A journey together into the happy childhood of Alexander Krylov is depicted in this diptych "Sentimental" (1994). Fragment 1 shows the favorite carousel on the playground. A sometimes wild but always protected spinning in a safe and loving childhood. Fragment 2 shows the entire playground which, in the artist's imagination and the distance to adulthood, becomes larger and more lively. 

    Both fragments show an abstract, dreamy scene in bright pastel colors and playful shapes in many shades of blue, turquoise, pink, and violet, creating a calming and lively atmosphere. The composition is horizontally oriented and shows a variety of surreal elements in harmonious balance. The seemingly floating structures and soft flowing colors let the viewer immerse into a fantasy world.
